BMW has revealed the Vision EfficientDynamics Concept, a dynamic view in a BMW sports car to a hybrid vehicle. This new concept of a plug-in hybrid with a three-cylinder turbo-diesel engine. Conceived with the idea of the fusion of the performance of an M3 with extremely low fuel consumption of the BMW claims a 0-62 mph time of 4.8 seconds while scoring 62.6 mpg (US) on the EU combined test cycle. The BMW Vision EfficientDynamics concept car clearly demonstrates the potential of BMW ActiveHybrid technology, which makes its world debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, the BMW ActiveHybrid X6 and the BMW ActiveHybrid 7 production models.

A second 80 hp motor provides drive to the front axle. The total net output of the drive system is 356 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque.
